RayBurton HangingAbout us… now that’s a tuff one. It all started off rather selfishly I must say…

We started because I (Ray Burton owner) wanted to keep in shape during the off season of my competitive bodybuilding schedule. After I got out of the army with all the running and obstacle courses… running on a treadmill seemed insane. I wanted a place to get my cardio, stay lean, get stronger and keep my muscle.

But it evolved.
More people asked to join in on the work out.

So we got a room. We all WANTED to work out. No one needed counseling or hugs to get through a work out. We wanted it to be fun (in a hard way), cool, unique…

We went outside training to enable us to do Wicked Cool things with our bodies OUTSIDE the gym. We didn’t want to just pump and fluff. We wanted go power to trail run, snow board, climb things and then be able to rip up the shirt and see ABS *BLAM!*.

We grew. We left the room and went outside…. but winter came and we didn’t have access to weights.

I sucked it up, signed a lease… and now we’re here.

Come in and play.

Your schedule, no chance of a really early time? I do work at Southport, Southland and Macleod, so getting there for 5:30 pm would be cool. How do I get over not being home for my children, who are 14 and 11. I usually work 9 to 5:30 so I am getting home to NW calgary by 6:15 pm. Should I just come and try a class? I am a big down hill skier, and completed my first marathon this past October, very slow though 5 hrs 8 minutes. I need to drop about 25 lbs to get faster, I have no upper body strength at all, and would love to learn to climb a rope. It has defeated me even as a kid. I am very interested.

We’re always looking at adding new times if there is enough people interested in it as expressed by emails sent in. I don’t have any advice as to what to do about your children but great job on losing 25 pounds. That’s a great accomplishment. Most people sign up for boot camp and do the free week trial if they are not sure. That way they try it for a week and if it doesn’t fit their schedule, they are able to cancel their registered spot before it becomes active at the end of the free week trial. You can do that here Erica: http://commandobootcampcalgary.com/get-started/ If you have an further questions, I’d be happy to answer them for you.
